Learn to Sew Classes

just an update ….check out these guys – they would be great to have at The Quilting Bee at Stony Kill Farm on 7/9. I’ve sent them an inquiry to see if they are interested – it looks like they have never been north of West Point, but we are only about 1/2 further north so they might be.  Well, we can always just buy one of their CD’s, but it would sure be great to have live performers.
I am finished reading the biography on Betsy Ross – very interesting stuff and I am pleased that the author did not go to great lengths to make her out to be an extraordinary hero – so, so many people just did their thing during that crazy few years and ole Elizabeth Griscom sounded like one tough cookie – she was actually only 24 years old (or close to that) when she did the famous sit down with George Washington and did her flag thing.  And, she was already a widow and mostly disowned by her quaker parents!  Wild stuff.  I’ll be going to the NJLHA Tools of Living History tomorrow – and I checked out some documentation that ALHFAM had on their site regarding FPIN.  I’m looking forward to learning more about it.
3rd Sewing Class last night went very well and we are 1/2 through the project – and I have had 3 other requests to take the class!!
